Concept
This complex has three functions: a health facility that supports daily health promotion, a welfare facility that contributes to making life worth living for the elderly, and a cultural facility that preserves and nurtures local culture and encourages interaction with city residents. While clearly separating the different functions, the facilities are integrated and designed to allow for coordinated use as needed. The entrance hall and lounge are arranged in parallel with a gallery for information dissemination and a lavatory for shared use, creating a variety of flow lines inside and outside the building. The building also ensures clear lines of flow according to usage patterns. The exterior of the building is designed to resemble a mountain range with a continuous series of semi-gabled roofs, aiming for culturally rich and relaxed architectural design, in keeping with the philosophy of health and welfare.
