Concept

Between the locations of the city hall and the fire station, we created a straightforward and compact area that would become the core of the city by constructing a civic hall and combining it with a library, with a view to reconstructing the central city area. The building is located overlooking the Arita River to the south and Mikan Mountain to the north, and we aimed to create an architecture that symbolizes the rich fertility of the area. From the library, where one can feel the scenery of the four seasons, to the Kibun Hall, where the joy of nature's bounty and the bustle of commerce can be felt three-dimensionally on both the stage and in the audience. And all the way to the outside of the building, Kishu lumber is used in every space, making them into a composite space and decorated with the image of how culture overflows outside and is transmitted to the community. We pray that the complex development, with its administrative, educational, cultural, and disaster prevention functions, will serve as a foundation for the creation of a community where people will want to live for a long time to come.
