Concept

This comprehensive welfare facility was planned in response to the aging of the existing welfare center for the elderly, with the aim of "creating a society in which everyone can live a life of peace”. Based on the five keywords of "vividness," "diversity," "pedestrian perspective," "local character," and "vitality," we strove to create an architectural ensemble of wooden structures made of locally produced timber, taking advantage of the city's vast mountain forests, to create a healing space for interaction and to give the town a lively, energetic atmosphere. The building is reminiscent of the white-walled storehouses that still remain in many parts of the city, and the multiple waves of tiled roofs create a dynamic streetscape in the existing urban area. It contributes to the creation of an urban space that is enjoyable to walk through, with a rich sequence of streets.
