Concept

Echizen City Imadate General Branch Office is largely composed of the City Hall Branch Office function, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry function, and the citizen use function. The library and art center (600-seat hall) are located on the premises, and together they form a complex facility that serves as the nucleus for disaster prevention and community activities in the eastern part of Echizen City. The general branch office is located near the entrance for easy access by visitors, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which requires a calm office space, is located on the north side of the building, away from the main entrance. The facility has a multi-purpose hall (250 people) with a flat floor for light exercise, a conference room, a kitchen, an exhibition and information gallery, a space for parental interaction, a playground for children, a place for community activities, a library space, and more. These open spaces are organically connected, and the facility is planned as a place where everyone can gather, relax, and deepen the bonds between people through the synergistic effect of these spaces. By using materials from local traditional crafts such as Japanese paper, Japanese knives, Echizen tiles, and locally produced cedar wood, the facility is also designed to communicate the charms of the Imadate area.
