Concept
The new preschool building was constructed at the location of a retaining wall that was on the verge of collapse, and was designed to support the soil in place of the retaining wall. The basic layout plan was based on that of the existing building, but the east building was designed as a two-story structure in order to secure the school garden. In consideration of the children's health, natural materials were used extensively in the interior spaces.
