Concept
The planned site is located about a 15-minute walk from JR Ninomiya Station in Oiso-machi, Naka-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture, a town with a mild climate and scenic beauty influenced by the warm currents flowing along the coast of Sagami Bay, which has attracted many dignitaries for a long time. The site conditions, such as the irregular T-shape of the site and the maintenance of a road for daily use through the replotted land in the center, are normally a disadvantage, but to make the most of them as an advantage, we decided on a building layout consisting of two separate buildings, one in the north and one in the south. The facade of the building is designed to express the characteristics of "Oiso," a resort area in Shonan, reminiscent of a luxury cruise ship, and to reduce the sense of oppression in the surrounding area by emphasizing the horizontal line, under the theme of "Voyage(New beginnings)" to enjoy daily life even after leaving the home you are accustomed to living in. A café is located facing the entrance hall on the first floor, and a wall fountain is placed outside to create a luxuriant social space. The living room has an island kitchen that is open to the adjacent common room and hallway, making it a flexible space that can be used for events and gatherings.
